Aged 10, one morning an hour before school started, Campbell’s good friend Grant had mentioned Campbell should come along with him to school band practice as they needed a drummer.
“Walking into that classroom with sun streaming in through the large old windows and seeing the other students sitting together so early and clearly enjoying band practice. It was a life changing moment. The room was warm from the morning sun and felt so calm; and Mr Whickham who was normally a stern teacher was very welcoming and asked me to sit with Rodney the main drummer. It was a great feeling just being there with others. Very grateful to everyone for that day.”
Flash forward to today and it was clearly an important day and has help lead to many years of joy in music for Campbell – sharing the love of playing with playing in bands, writing great songs and recording songs for release.
